Minutes from April 9th Teleconference Now Available

The minutes from last week’s teleconference meeting on Monday, April 9th are available through this website as a PDF document.

We had excellent attendance at the meeting, with over twenty people participating in person or on the phone from Moscow, Pullman, Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Benewah County, and Cottonwood, ID. Participants discussed NWCHR’s in-progress mission statement, a potential formalized structure for the group including a steering or executive committee, and purposes and dates for the next in-person meeting in May or June.

If you were not able to attend but have comments to add once you have read the minutes, please email Kristin at kristinc@uidaho.edu.

Meeting participants agreed to vote on the best date for our next in-person Saturday meeting so we can choose a date that will allow the most people to attend. Choices are:

• Saturday, May 19, 11:00am to 3:00pm in Moscow

• Saturday, June 9, 11:00am to 3:00pm in Moscow

• Saturday, June 23, 11:00am to 3:00pm in Moscow

Email Kristin at kristinc@uidaho.edu if you wish to express a preference for one of these dates.

About nwchr

The Northwest Coalition for Human Rights (NWCHR) exists to facilitate connections and communication among organizations and individuals who are engaged in human rights and social justice work in the Northwest region of the United States, with special focus on the Inland Northwest. The coalition, inspired by Bill Wassmuth's former Northwest Coalition Against Malicious Harassment, will give strength to those working at the local level by allowing them to share resources, information, and ideas, as well as making them part of a larger support system. The University of Idaho Office of Human Rights, Access, and Inclusion (HRAI) in Moscow serves as the administrative home for the NWCHR, and the Coalition strives to build strong membership from throughout Idaho and eastern Washington, as well as from other parts of the Northwest region. All are welcome to join NWCHR and give their input.
