NWCHR Meeting Scheduled for Saturday, June 9, 2012

The next in-person meeting of NWCHR will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2012. All are welcome to participate. We hope you will join us.

When: 11:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday, June 9, 2012

Where: St. Augustine’s Catholic Center, 628 South Deakin Street, next to the campus of the University of Idaho, Moscow

Why: Finalize structure and mission of the Coalition, as well as share news from local groups (lunch will be provided)

We conducted a teleconference meeting on April 9, 2012 to discuss the structure and mission of the Northwest Coalition for Human Rights. It was decided we should have a face-to-face meeting in late spring or early summer to finalize this structure and mission, and to provide another opportunity for networking and sharing. Those who attended the teleconference on April 9th, as well as others who have expressed interest in joining the Coalition, were asked to vote on the best Saturday* in May or June for the meeting, and Saturday, June 9th was voted the most convenient date. Mark your calendars if you hope to join us. A teleconference option will be available for those who cannot attend in person.

Details concerning this meeting will be available in the coming weeks as we continue to collect feedback and evaluate recommendations concerning the April 9th meeting, our mission statement, and options for the Coalition’s structure.

Thanks for your interest! Email Kristin with questions: kristinc@uidaho.edu

* Note: We know that some people prefer weekday meetings, but overall it seems better for the majority to meet on weekends, considering some attendees are driving multiple hours to attend. Thanks for your patience as we negotiate so many scheduling concerns!

About nwchr

The Northwest Coalition for Human Rights (NWCHR) exists to facilitate connections and communication among organizations and individuals who are engaged in human rights and social justice work in the Northwest region of the United States, with special focus on the Inland Northwest. The coalition, inspired by Bill Wassmuth's former Northwest Coalition Against Malicious Harassment, will give strength to those working at the local level by allowing them to share resources, information, and ideas, as well as making them part of a larger support system. The University of Idaho Office of Human Rights, Access, and Inclusion (HRAI) in Moscow serves as the administrative home for the NWCHR, and the Coalition strives to build strong membership from throughout Idaho and eastern Washington, as well as from other parts of the Northwest region. All are welcome to join NWCHR and give their input.
